Greg spent most of his childhood in Toowoomba. He gained his veterinary degree (Hons) in 1992 from the University of Queensland. After spending the first Two and a half years of his veterinary career working on the Atherton Tablelands in predominantly dairy practice Greg moved to Gympie and purchased Gympie Veterinary Service in 1995. Greg works with all aspects of veterinary practice but has a strong interest farm animal medicine and equine surgery and reproduction. Greg has undertaken further study in Equine Medicine and Dentistry and regularly attends veterinary conferences. He is a member of the Australian Veterinary Association, Australian Cattle Veterinarians and Equine Veterinary Association. Greg has also in the past been an external examiner for the University of Qld Veterinary School and has guided many students into successful veterinary careers. He has accreditation in the National Cattle Pregnancy Diagnosis scheme and the Bull Breeding Soundness Scheme. Greg also spends a day a week in the small animal clinic maintaining his interest is small animal practice as well. Outside of work Greg and his family enjoy time at the beach, boating, fishing and sporting pursuits.
Shannon graduated in 1998 and has previously worked in Gloucester NSW and also has done veterinary work in Dorset and the Midlands UK. Starting with Gympie Veterinary Services in 2002 Shannon's interests include small animal surgery and medicine. He has also completed post graduate courses in ophthalmology and surgery.
Outside of work Shannon enjoys family time, fishing and diving.
Cathy graduated from Liverpool University with distinction in 1993. Working in three different practices in Wales and southwest England, her last position before crossing the seas was in Penzance, Cornwall - nearly as far southwest as you can go without falling into the sea!
While in the UK, Cathy also did further study in acupuncture and homeopathy. More recently Cathy has completed further studies in feline medicine and is also currently undertaking study in veterinary oncology which she is finding challenging and extremely interesting.
Cathy joined our practice in 2006 and became a Director in January 2011 (?) to check.
Outside of work Cathy keeps active trying to keep up with her son (and stay upright) on her mountain bike. Cathy also completes in Ironman triathlons. To keep her sane she has dogs and cats at home to cuddle.
Justin graduated from University of Qld in 2004. Prior to graduation he was employed in Dairy Farming, Beef and Sheep Farming and Feedlot. Starting at Gympie Veterinary Services in 2007, Justin was previously employed on the Darling Downs, Mixed practices and with Feedlot consultancy. His main veterinary interests include cattle production medicine and reproduction, equine reproduction and dentistry. Furthering his interest and education Justin is a BullCheck Accredited Examiner, PregCheck Accredited Examiner, and has studied in Equine Veterinary Dentistry Course and Countdown Advisor Course. Staying active and fit outside of work hours, Justin enjoys spending time with his family, Surf Lifesaving and Karate.

Dr McDougall graduated from University of QLD in 1998 and practiced in Maleny for 1 year. Following Maleny, he worked in a large hospital in Sydney for 3 years. It was then decided it was time to travel, Dan spent 4 years at Essex in England working in a small animal practice. Eventually the English climate encouraged a return to Australia.
Upon arrival back in Australia in 2005, Dan called in to Gympie Veterinary Services to say hello to a friend and walked out with a positon and he has worked at Gympie Veterinary Services ever since.
Dan also works at the Pet E.R. on the Sunshine Coast as an emergency and critical care veterinarian working night and weekend shifts. In 2011 he passed his critical care and emergency membership examinations, an additional qualification held by less than 100 veterinarians in the Australasian region. Dan and his wife Cara live at Cooroy with cats, cattle and chooks and enjoys tinkering with wood and his tractor.
Anne graduated from University of Qld in 2004. Prior to graduation at as Veterinarian, Anne was employed as a Veterinary Nurse for 4 years.
Anne's foremost veterinary interest is in small animal medicine and has undertaken further studies in neurology, equine lameness and respiratory emergencies.
Previously employed at the Samford Valley Vet Hospital, Anne first worked at our clinic in 2005, and was later employed at our clinic in 2008.

Daniel is one of the newest vets to join GVS. He grew up on the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast near the Glasshouse Mountains. He moved to Townsville in 2009 to complete his degree which he did in 2013. He has a keen interest in small animal surgery but enjoys getting out and about with the large animals. Outside of work Daniel loves getting out and playing touch football, cricket or any other sports he can get into.

Temika was born in Brisbane but moved to Cloncurry as a young girl. It was in Cloncurry that Temika found her passion for large animals. Temika spent most of her teenage years in Cloncurry before moving to Dalby to finish high school. From Dalby, Temika moved to Gatton to complete her B.V.Sc. at the University of QLD. It was in 2014 when Temika came to Gympie Veterinary Services to complete her final placement. Temika thoroughly enjoyed her time at G.V.S. and quickly became part of the team. After graduating with honours from UQ, Temika returned to join us at G.V.S. Temika enjoys working with large animals and anything surgical. In her own time, Temika enjoys catching up with friends and family, cooking, fishing, swimming and raising her own backyard poultry.
Louise graduated from University College Dublin Ireland in 2014 and has been employed with Gympie Veterinary Services since early 2015 after a period of time with Marburg Veterinary Clinic. Enjoying veterinary interests of mixed animal care and treatment (all things great and small), Louise has also completed additional studies in Small Animal Medical Imaging and Large Animal Clinical Studies. Outside of work Louise enjoys travel and exploring new places, keeping fit (tennis/gym/swimming and horse riding) and spending time with family and friends enjoying good food and drinks.
Rebecca (Bec) completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at UQ in (YEAR) before starting with Gympie Veterinary Services in 2015. Prior to working with us Bec worked in clinics at Biloela and Maryborough. Recently completing a course in equine dentistry, Bec enjoys the variety and challenges involved in working in a mixed animal practice. Out of work hours Bec enjoys nothing more than spending time with family, camping, and fishing.
Pearl Graduated from University of Queensland in 1992, and has worked at Manly Road Vet Hospital, Chatswood, and Acacia Ridge as well as in a number of locums. Starting with Gympie Veterinary Services in 2015 Pearl's main veterinary interests include exotics, wildlife and birds, small animal surgery and Microbiology/ mycology. In 1996 Pearl completed a vet tour of Nepal. Other highlights of her career include the presentation of paper at the ISVEE X1 conference , having her phD accepted, and doing volunteer work for Vets Beyond Borders in Ladakh India 2007.
Outside of work Pearl enjoys sailing, horse riding and gardening.

Ben has joined us as a large animal veterinarian and comes with great experience and knowledge. Before studying to become a veterinarian, Ben worked on the family farm in NSW. Ben has also worked on a cattle ranch in Canada, for the past 4 years he has been working as a vet in the Canterbury region of New Zealand.
